About the Recipe

Chickenless taouk. Make this your go to on meatless Mondays!

Ingredients

  1. 1 Tbsp ketchup

  2. Juice of 1 lemon

  3. 1/3 cup plain (dairy or non) Greek style yogurt

  4. 3-4 garlic cloves, minced or crushedgarli

  5. All spice mix (smoked paprika, cloves, cinnamon, cumin, garlic, pepper)

  6. 1/2 cup of water

  7. 2 Tbsp olive oil

  8. 3/4 pack of firm or extra firm tofu, sliced

  9. Rice, cooked to instructions

  10. Salad or sides of choice


Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix ketchup, spices, 1 tbsp olive oil, garlic, juice of lemon and yogurt. Add a bit of water to soften if too thick.

  2. Dip tofu slices into mixture and set aside to marinade in refrigerator for a few hours.

  3. When ready to cook, heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in skillet and sear tofu slices on both sides until slightly browned.

  4. Top on bowl of rice and bed of veggies, or enjoy with a side of fresh salad!
