Delicious savory lentil herb cake!

Ingredients

Inspired by the red lentils cake recipe by cookistwow (on tiktok), below is our variation of the red lentils cake using some of our fav ingredients.

  1. 2 cups red lentils

  2. 2 eggs

  3. 50 ml olive oil

  4. 1 cup yogurt

  5. 50 g feta cheese

  6. 50 g mozzarella cheese

  7. 1/2 tsp baking soda

  8. 1/2 tsp salt

  9. 1 tsp baking powder

  10. 1/4 cup zaatar or use spice and herb mix of choice

  11. 1/4 cup chopped black olives

  12. 3-4 tbsp sesame seeds to top

Preparation

  1. Soak the red lentils in water (cover to top) for 2 hours

  2. Strain lentils and pour into a mixing bowl

  3. Preheat oven to 350F and grease a 9" cake pan

  4. Add to lentils in mixing bowl eggs, oil and yogurt, mix well

  5. Blend lentil mixture until soft then transfer back to mixing bowl and add remaining ingredients

  6. Transfer to baking pan and cover with sesame seeds

  7. Bake for 40 mins at 350F
