Banana chocolate loaf

About the Recipe

Banana and chocolate, 'nuf said!


  1. 1 mashed banana and 1 to top , sliced (optional)

  2. 1/2 cup whole wheat flour

  3. 1 cup all purpose flour

  4. 1 tsp baking soda

  5. 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

  6. Dash of salt

  7. 1/2 cup milk

  8. 1/4 cup vegetable oil

  9. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  10. 2 eggs or replacement

  11. 1/2 cup turbinado sugar, plus more to sprinkle on top

  12. 1/2 cup chocolate chips

  13. handful of sliced almonds


  1. Mix wet and dry ingredients in separate bowls

  2. Combine and mix dry ingredients and wet mixture

  3. Fold in chocolate chips

  4. Pour batter into greased load pan

  5. Top with sliced banana (optional)

  6. Sprinkle almonds and sugar (optional)

  7. Bake at 375F for about 30 mins or until toothpick comes out dry. Worth checking at the 20 min mark and covering top of pan loosely with foil if necessary (if seems to be browning).

  8. Tastes fabulous with whipped cream on top!

  9. Warm up your slice before serving and topping with cream if using, just for a few secs in the microwave or mins in the oven. You won't regret!
